What to bring to Utd dorms?
University Village and Canyon Creek Heights apartment residents should bring kitchen supplies (pots, pans, plates, utensils, can openers, grocery and pantry items, etc.) Moving In
- Alarm clock.
- Bed sheets.
- Cleaning supplies (toilet cleaner, laundry detergent, dish detergent, etc.)
- Computer or laptop.
- First aid kit.
Does UT have free laundry?
For your convenience, the campus laundry rooms are equipped with High-Efficiency (HE) washers and dryers free of charge. For best results, use HE detergent. Always follow the manufacturer’s directions on the detergent bottle label, since it’s specially formulated for HE machines.
Do you have to pay for laundry in college?
Fortunately, some schools are now including laundry services as part of their tuition and fees. You just swipe your campus ID card, or a special card given to you for laundry use, and use the on-campus laundry facilities to clean your own clothes. Other schools make you use coin-operated machines to do the laundry.
How much does laundry cost at UC Davis?
Yes. Laundry facilities with card-operated washers and dryers are available in each community. Laundry machines accept credit and/ or debit cards; they do not accept cash. Wash cycles are $1.25 each.

Run your washer and dryer early in the morning or at night to avoid the surge. During the winter, electricity demand is highest in the morning hours between 7 and 9 am when people are waking up and turning up their heat. Doing laundry in the evening is your safest bet.

Segundo and Tercero buildings are attached to the campus’ centralized heating and cooling facility, which runs either a heating system or cooling system at any given time, but never both simultaneously. Therefore, residents have some but not full control over their heating and air conditioning.
Are there single dorms at UC Davis?
Limited single-occupancy rooms are available. Students can indicate interest in a single-occupancy room by placing themselves on the Residence Hall Single Waitlist. Students will find out if they have been assigned to a single room in late August when assignments are announced.
Is UC Davis housing first come first serve?
Entering in Winter or Spring Quarter Transfer students may contact Student Housing to request to be placed on the transfer application waitlist. Transfer students are offered contracts based upon available space according to a first-come, first-served basis, until all spaces are filled.
